Cubase Experiment
I created a sound effect which we was going to use as ambient music on Steve's sewer environment in conjunction which something Wayne had created but because of time restraints it didn't get used. I used Cubase to create this and used three different instruments which i then mixed down into a .wav. It was meant to sound like something between crickets and aliens. Some of the things i used to create this is Polyiblit v2, Rezv1.3 and MonoMonster v1.

Textured train animation
ok this was more of a pain than i thought my main problem was my computer did something to the smoke which made it take 10 minutes to render a frame. So as you can see i decided to turn it off. This 10 second animation was 300 frames and i spent around a 1 hour 30 minutes rendering it. I rendered it out in HD because the last animation i did was bad quality so i also spent 13 minutes uploading it to youtube.

Render of my train
This is a render of my train with all the textures applied (apart from the wheels) i used a texture mode called Architectural with a UVW map. I used two omni one dark green on the left at 0.9 multiplier and the one on the right is white with a multiplier 1.0 using ray tracing shadows on both. I'm taking it home to render a animation of it spinning (like the last vid i uploaded) this is to show the reflections. I'm doin this because it takes 1min 4sec to render one frame at college and i need to render 300 so im hoping it will render faster at home.

Double Negative
Lewis is a mid level 3d modeler at the moment he is working at Double negative on multiple projects he does a very specific job of adding veins and extra detail to models to give them a more realistic feel. He also talked about how he got into the industry which was very interesting because he started as a runner and he explained what a runner does (going from one company to any partner one with information and test renders) then moved up to render supervisor and then to a low level model then seven years later he got to mid level modeling. He also talked about the different stages of modeling and all the other more boring stuff that need to be done in order for the end product to be good. He also broke down the different levels of production on films like harry potter showing how they went from the roar footage to adding all the CG and and camera effects.

Channel 4 advert
This is the channel 4 advert which Lewis also worked on it was much cheaper than the Fox's one only costing £250,000 he said this was much easy to make because channel 4 knew what they want. One thing i didn't realise is about 50% of the building in that advert are CG because they needed to make the important CG building (that make up the channel 4 logo) fit in more they also had to add in a CG copter to cast shadows on the CG buildings.
Fox's Biscuit advert
This is the fox's advert its one of the things that was talked about with Lewis in are lecture was this advert he said it was one of the most complex things he had worked on because of the company would not make there mind up about the design they wanted first they wanted a bull dog then they thought a panda was a good idea but then he liked them both so decided he wanted them to try and merge the dog and panda (which didn't look so nice) in the end they spent around one and a half million on this 10 second advert but they did get it done on deadline but they had to pull resources from all over the company.

Desk 3ds max
There is not much missing just the keyboard, mouse and Xbox controllers. I have also added a screen shot at the bottom of the post, showing the scene in 3ds max. I am very happy with how it turned out the only problem i can see is the button on the Xbox, the shadows in the scene have just made it look like a hole and not a round indentation i would of sorted this but only noticed it after the render had finished. I think that I have developed a lot of my 3ds max skills in the process. I don't think i will finish this scene because i have other work i need to do and i am happy with how it is now, if a bit empty

More 3ds max stuff :)
This is something i created in my spare time its a remake of my desk its almost finished just got my Xbox 360, keyboard and mouse to create. Apart from that the only over thing i am going to change is the scale of the Wii remotes and the lighting i think i am going to add one more light the right side of the scene to cast some more shadows and help bring out some of the detail i put into the models.

Storytelling Reflection
I think over all are team did a good presentation we all had done are research on the area of storytelling we have picked. Are teams presentation was 17 minutes long which was not the longest but also was not the shortest. I think that all the teams did a awesome presentation and only one person was not here. The audience was great too they all payed attention the only problem was the same two people asked the questions at the end but they was all good questions about the subject we was walking apart. I think that my presentation was the worst out of my group because i got a very simple thing to talk about there is only so much you can talk about cave drawing so i just said what the professionals thought they was made for and then what my opinion was. If i did it again i would pick a more complex time period to talk this would give me much more to talk about. I have learned that there is cave paintings through out time because of this we could have them in many of are different areas like are Egyptian one they had alto of story's that they painted onto walls of there temples and buildings.

Finished stargate (ish)
This is the finished version of my stargate i created the effects e.g the water on the portal and the thing that comes out but i had help from Steve who is are team leader to create a decent stone texture for the gateway its self the only problem i have with it is the bump map can still be seen when the water is coming in i could not work out how to sort this but it will not be very noticeable with every thing else going on so don't think it will have a impact with the quality of the trailer
Church
This is something i created for my environment this will be one of the first things you see in my bit of the trailer so i tyred to put a extra detail into it but also keep the uvw unwrapping as simple as i could. The next image is a screenshot of the scene and all the lights.

How is are team doing?
One of my main concerns is render time because me and some of my team mates are using mental ray with allot of reflections like Steve (team leader) is creating a futuristic city with allot glass. I'm also concerned that i have not seen many updates from some meet member on there 3d environments. But over all i think we have a balanced and well organised team that is working well together and getting all are work in on the deadlines are team leader is setting. I think it works well because we all have someone we are good e.g Steve 3ds max, me 3ds max, Wayne texturing, Jordan editing and Marcus is very good at scripting and sound editing
